Bud’s Landscape and Design
Native Texas Landscaping Services
What we do
Bud's specializes in designing, building, and managing landscapes and ecological restoration projects for both residential and commercial sites. We handle projects of various scales, from small garden beds to master plans for entire properties. Our designs aim to enhance the beauty and functionality of each property while improving habitat value, biodiversity, and resilience to climate change. We are based in Lockhart, TX, and serve the surrounding Austin area.
Design
Our landscaping approach is focused and specialized. We design spectacular, low-maintenance landscapes using drought-resistant, primarily Texas native perennials.
As a landscape designer, Bud emphasizes the use of Texas native plants that support local butterflies, birds, and bees. Drawing inspiration from the Hill Country and the Eastern prairie lands, and creates gardens that are both welcoming and beautiful.
Each design is meticulously planned, taking into account sun requirements, mature plant sizes, and your intended use of the space. Our goal is to create outdoor areas that are functional, low-maintenance, and drought-tolerant.
Installations
Installation is just as important to us as design. We are a full-service landscape company with a talented team that has exceptional training. We handle irrigation, lighting, and overall design implementation. By taking on only 1-2 projects at a time, we can devote our full attention to each project from start finish. This approach allows you to feel confident and at ease throughout the entire process.
Hardscaping
Hardscapes enhance the natural beauty of your property while adding both form and function. These elements provide a solid foundation for your outdoor living space and create structure throughout your property. Features such as stepping stones and retaining walls transform previously unusable areas into functional living spaces. Dry creek beds offer an attractive solution for eliminating standing water and muddy spots. Rock walls help stabilize uneven terrain and prevent erosion. Hardscapes are just one of many landscape and lifestyle solutions we provide to improve your outdoor living experience.
Maintenance
Low maintenance does not mean no maintenance! Even the most water-efficient gardens require upkeep to keep plants healthy and looking their best. This service includes weeding, pruning and shaping existing plants as needed, seasonal cutbacks, and irrigation assessments during each visit.
By visiting quarterly, we allow the garden to grow between visits and can manage the plants as the seasons change. Our goal is to pay special attention to all plants in the garden beds and provide the detailed care they need. With consistency and care, flowering perennials and shrubs can look stunning year-round.
Water Features
The beauty of water features create that perfect outdoor environment where you can relax and enjoy nature in it’s fullness. Water features, or waterscapes, can be as simple as a small waterscape at your home’s entrance, or as extensive as a fully-landscaped, several-tiered waterfall flowing into a pond with live fish and beautiful plants. Some examples include fish Ponds, Natural Rock Waterfalls, Country Style Waterfalls, Contemporary Waterfalls, and Landscaped Waterfalls. We design and build for both commercial and residential properties.
Wildscaping
A “wildscape” is a habitat restoration and conservation plan designed for both rural and urban areas. It allows individuals to contribute to wildlife conservation by creating habitats where animals can live, work, and play.
Wildscapes provide essential resources for various wildlife, including food, water, shelter, and space. This is achieved by planting and maintaining native vegetation, installing birdbaths and ponds, and creating structures for wildlife to use. While feeders can supplement native plants, they should never replace them. The primary goal of a wildscape is to offer safe places for birds, small mammals, and other wildlife to feed, drink, escape from predators, and raise their young.
